LaVerne Thompson and I'm a USA Today
Bestselling, award winning, multi-published author, an avid reader and a writer
of contemporary, fantasy, and sci/fi sensual romances. I love creating
worlds within and without our world. I also write romantic suspense and new
adult romance under the pen name Ursula Sinclair.
I'm a certified chocoholic and proud of it. I'm currently working on several projects. Some
might even involve chocolate. But writing helps maintain my sanity.

My contribution to the Wings of the Wicked set is Soul Collectors. An urban fantasy about the fight over lost souls. I first began this story on a writing site but never finished it. It was just waiting for the right time. This time. It is the beginning of a whole new world. There will be more to come. But it is not your traditional romance in that there is no happy ending. For now.
Betwixt heaven and hell, a world exists
called earth. Otherwise known as the battlefield for souls.
Angelique is an Angel Soul Collector.
She collects the souls of those who
died in fear, anger and pain. She is there to bear witness to the suffering,
give comfort and hope and determine if they are worthy of heaven.
Some choose not to go with her and
instead thirst for revenge; those refuse to give up their earthly ties and she
leaves them to their fates. Some find satisfaction and will be given another
chance to cross over, but most doom themselves to wander the earthly realm for
an eternity. The ones who surrender to her, to the light, she opens the doorway
and escorts them to a better life.
Then there are the others.
Nathanial is a Demon Soul Collector.
He collects souls for his master of
those who died in fear, anger and pain. Those who thirst for revenge, he
encourages to remain on earth and cause havoc. Others that have their names
already written in his Rubrum
Libro, little red book, he
opens the gateway and shoves them straight into hell. For him, it’s a job. He
was born of a human mother and demon father then raised in hell to become a
collector.
They are enemies. But once they were something
else. Still, one of them must die.
This is not a romance. There can be no
happy ending with a demon. Only an end.
